Maddie (Matin) is a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario and holds a Masters’s Degree in Counseling Psychology (MACP). Matin works with adolescents and adults diagnosed with depression, anxiety and individuals exposed to trauma and Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She specializes in working with individuals diagnosed with personality disorders such as borderline personality disorder and mood disorders such as bipolar disorder. Furthermore, she specialized in working with people exposed to narcissistic abuse and individuals diagnosed with a narcissistic personality disorder. Maddie uses evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, brief psychodynamic therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness practices.
Ameneh Samareh Mirahmadi
Ameneh Samareh Mirahmadi is a registered psychotherapist, a member of CRPO; her registration number is 11617. She has completed her master’s degree from Yorkville University and holds an Honors Bachelor of Child Development from Seneca College. She integrates various therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy, art therapy, and play therapy. She supports children, youth, and families facing cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. Samareh has extensive experience working with children with Autism using ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) Early intervention, Behavioural management therapy and RBT (registered behavioural technique). She is CPI trained and knows how to engage in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention. Samareh brings her 10+ years of education in child development, her 25+ years of experience working with children in their early years, and her master’s degree in counselling psychology to our practice. She looks forward to providing one-on-one and group support to children, youth, and families through a multitude of therapeutic modalities and parental coaching. She provides therapy in English and Farsi/Persian.
Shadi Pourafzal
Shadi has worked with individuals, families, and groups in a variety of capacities. Her expertise is in working with clients with anxiety, depression, history of abuse, PTSD, trauma, relationship issues, transitions, grief, parenting, and children’s mental health. She has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, DBT, trauma-informed counselling, Solution-focused therapy, Emotional Focused Therapy and Internal Family System therapy. Shadi specializes in working with couples and is trained in Imago therapy.
Shadi is passionate about guiding her clients towards finding their inner potential and addressing the challenges they are currently experiencing.
Amanda Elston
Amanda is a Qualifying Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and is currently a student of the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. She prioritizes the importance of the therapist client relationship while engaging in a client-centred and strength-based approach. Amanda adapts therapeutic approaches to meet the clients’ unique needs and is comfortable working through a CBT, TF-CBT, humanistic, SFBT, and attachment-based lens. She firmly believes that each client has strengths within them to solve their own problems and her views of the role of the therapist is to assist the client to become aware of their strengths and resources. Amanda finds meaning and fulfillment in facilitating client change. Her areas of interest include relational and attachment issues, relationship difficulty, trauma, life transitions, and self-esteem. She enjoys working with individuals and couples and works through a Solution-Focused and Gottman-Informed approach. (Starting September 2024)
