Registered Psychotherapist - Qualifying

Amanda Elston is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO #17779) and is a Professional Member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She prioritizes the importance of the therapist client relationship while engaging in a client-centred and strength-based approach. Amanda adapts therapeutic approaches to meet the clients’ unique needs and utilizes primarily CBT, DBT, ACT, TF-CBT, humanistic, and attachment-based lens. Amanda is of German and Metis descent and finds comfort in her spirituality, which presents in sessions through focusing on our experiences in the here-and-now and bringing attention to each client’s unique gifts. Amanda has experience working with narcissistic abuse, Indigenous clients/intergenerational trauma, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, and ADHD. Amanda had a late-in-life diagnosis of ADHD and deeply understands the grief and re-self-discovery that follows this. She understands that no one’s journey will look the same and encourages client empowerment in sessions. Amanda has recently completed training in Internal Family System IFS (Parts work) and EMDR, which she will incorporate into her psychotherapy practice.
